IT Strategy Participants

Participants in the strategy formation were chosen in a method that emanated from the IT Board and diffused throughout the academy. By the end of the the year long formative process, more than 225 university faculty, staff, and students had participated through direct feedback with many others contributing in supporting roles. The process began in the summer of 2023 and as many faculty and most students were away from campus, administrative groups were targeted at the outset for feedback.  One on one meetings with IT Board members were the starting point, then various leadership teams from dean's offices and other areas were brought into the fold.  By September, our consulting partners at Next Generation were holding further interviews with contacts located through the branching process of recommendation from the summer sessions.  During October, and as the fall quarter was well underway, 8 focus groups were assembled of various faculty and staff leads, as well as time spent with campus governance committees from Academic Senate, AMP, Staff Advisory Council, student groups such as AS, GSA, Student Affairs Student Cabinet, and others.  As fall quarter drew to a close, a day and a half long IT Strategy Retreat was held in Loma Pelona, facilitated by Next Generation, where many of the initiatives for FY25 were derived from various activities.  The retreat population continued to be a touchpoint for the process through the spring as the goals, objectives/outcomes, strategies, and initiatives were refined and readied for presentation back to the IT Board thus closing the circle and the process.
