Mission-Focused IT
The purpose of UC Santa Barbara Information Technology is to support an environment at UCSB that fosters its teaching, learning, research, and public service mission. The 2019 UCSB IT Strategy set the direction for the campus IT vision and priorities. Since then, the unforeseen change of the pandemic, the prescribed integrations of IT units, and ever evolving cyber threats have reshaped both UCSB and the technology landscape, prompting a reassessment of priorities and a strategic realignment. The ITS organization now manages broad responsibilities, providing diverse technology services for the entire campus. This strategy is a direction for information technology for the entire campus and all of its constituents and is represented and will be serviced by the many disparate service providers that work diligently to provide these services and roles.
